The EAST GRINSTEAD CONCERT BAND (founded in 1974 from the original Town Band) is a friendly and active community based concert wind band which attracts a diverse membership throughout the East Grinstead area and beyond, of all ages and experience.
We also play under the banner of the BLUEBELL RAILWAY BAND and are very proud of our association (since 2000) with the famous heritage line, which was the UK's first preserved standard gauge passenger railway in the world to operate a public service. We regularly perform at Horsted Keynes and Sheffield Park Railway Stations and at various events throughout the year including the very popular Bluebell Carol Service. Like the old Town Band, the current East Grinstead Concert Band regularly perform
at local charity events including the East Grinstead May Fair, at Meridian Hall,
St Swithun’s Church, BBC Sussex & Surrey’s “Local Heroes” Awards, Eastbourne Bandstand
and Sissinghurst Castle. More recently, the Band performed at the official unveiling
ceremony of the new statue of Sir Archibald McIndoe -
