The East Grinstead Concert Band is a community based adult wind band founded in 1974 from the original Town Band. It is made up of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. The band also play under the banner of The Bluebell Railway Band.
We play typical military band concert repertoire, introducing as much variety as possible into our programmes. These include marches, concert overtures, classical arrangements, selections from the shows, big band swing music and other popular music.
The band can play a programme for almost any requirements such as garden parties, fetes, weddings, church services and carol concerts. These are in addition to bandstand concerts at various locations in and around the East Grinstead and coastal locations.
We rehearse on Wednesday evenings between 8 and 10 pm. at The East Grinstead Ex-Servicemens’ Club. We meet in the Royal British Legion room above the club.
The address is 4,Station Road, East Grinstead RH19 1DJ. The nearest car park is off London Road, between the Fire Station and Moat Road. (Free after 6 pm.)
All new players of a good standard are welcome to come along. Contact the band to check rehearsal dates and please bring your own music stand.
The band also encourages promising young players to join more experienced musicians and achieve high standards under their Director of Music, Stuart Fifield M.Mus. LRSM. LTCL.
