The East Grinstead Concert Band is a non marching community based adult wind band founded in 1974 from the original Town Band. It is made up of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. They play typical military band concert repertoire, introducing as much variety as possible into their programmes. These include marches, concert overtures, classical arrangements, rock, selections from the shows and big band swing music.
The band can play a programme for almost any requirements including weddings, garden parties, fetes, church services and carol concerts. These are in addition to bandstand concerts at various locations in and around the East Grinstead and coastal locations.
We rehearse on Wednesday evenings between 8 and 10 pm. at The East Grinstead Ex-Servicemens’ Club. We meet in the Royal British Legion room above the club.
The address is 4,Station Road, East Grinstead RH19 1DJ. The nearest car park is off London Road, between the Fire Station and Moat Road. (Free after 6 pm.)
All new players of a good standard are welcome to come along . Contact the band to check rehearsal dates and please bring your own music stand.
